I wanted to share a little behind-the-scenes story about my new game, Princess Tactics.
1. It all started with Gemini 3
My starting idea was pretty strange:
“What if Pac-Man’s rules were reimagined as a stealth game with a princess?”
I threw this into Gemini 3, and it actually handled the idea really well. It helped me:
- break down how Pac-Man-style movement could work in a stealth setting
- think about guard behavior based on ghost AI
- outline how the princess could hide, escape, and solve tactical situations
Gemini basically helped me prove that the idea made sense.
2. Gemini 3 also generated an early mockup
I had Gemini build a small Canvas mockup.
It wasn’t a full game — more like a quick prototype — but it let me see the concept in motion and refine the prompt further.
3. Turning the refined idea into a game
Once the idea felt solid, I used that improved prompt to generate the actual game with Gambo.ai.
(Fair disclaimer: I work at Gambo.ai — but I approached this project as a personal experiment in workflow, not a marketing exercise.)
The cool part for me was seeing how well the concept, shaped in Gemini, translated into a working game when run through Gambo.ai’s generator.
The workflow I ended up using
Idea → Expanded in Gemini 3 → Mockup in Gemini 3 → Final game generated in Gambo.ai
It felt like a good example of how different AI tools can play different roles in game development — one for thinking, one for building.
