By skyforbes I spent hours of time spread over a month working on a project in Gemini using the Canvas feature to co-edit a document on the Black Plague. I was finally getting the document close to where I wanted it, when I asked it to update a paragraph. Instead of editing the paragraph, it created a slide deck on "Executive Leadership." That's an annoying hallucination and even a little funny since we spent a month talking about pandemics, but whatever.
The kicker is that it also erased our entire chat history. The co-edited document and everything leading up to it was lost for good. No, I didn't download versions along the way; my bad.
While I was telling everyone how awesome Gemini was relative to ChatGPT or Claude, now I'm not so sure.
Anyone have similar experiences? Is this a common bug?
