Has anyone else got a letter this month or last stating they have to call someone at their local office?

I'm in Missouri and I receive both Medicaid and SSI. I got a letter in the mail in late July stating that I have until August 23rd to contact a specific person at my local office or they may cut my SSI and potentially my Medicaid. They give me the number of the local office and an extension to reach the person as well as the name.

I know I'm suppose to report any changes in my situation and every year they send a form to update if anything has changed, normally this is done around my birthday in November or December at the latest so I don't think it is that.

So I call the first available business day, I do the extension they gave me and the person's voicemail comes up asking me to leave my Social Security number and assuring me that it is a secure in box. I've not had to do that before, so that is strange. A few days, maybe a week or so later, I get a call from a New York number that I don't recognize, turns out it is the guy I was supposed to call. Well he leaves a message to call him back at the number they gave me in the letter. I've called 3 or 4 times since then, trying to get the guy to call me back. The 23rd is fast approaching and I'm worried about having a gap in my assistance especially if it affects my Medicaid because I take 4 or 5 different medications for various conditions and I don't want my meds to stop. Sorry for the long post, that is really only tangentially related to Medicaid, but I'm worried and I am just wondering if any else is experiencing this.

TLDR: I got a random letter from the Social Security office saying to contact them and I've been playing phone tag with the agent I'm supposed to call for going on a month now.
