However, as time went by, most games implemented shooting mechanics (GTA, uncharted, TES), so playing strictly FPS games didn't feel needed anymore.

For reference, things that I like:
– Realism: I prefer games that feel real. If I shoot someone in the head, I expect them to stay dead. I'm not a big fan of games like doom, where you have to kill the Lord of Hell, and 200 bullets to his head aren't enough to kill him. Also, a game where I can only take a few shots before dying, because I'm playing a normal guy, without superpowers.
– Story: I'm looking for a game where I am fighting a war that makes sense. I'm not looking for shooting just for the sake of shooting.
– Tactics: a game that rewards thinking, rather than shooting millions of bullets. However, a few fast-paced sections sometimes are fine.
