Help Precious Babies Have A Better Start To Life Through The Grace Project

MISHAWAKA, Indiana – Circle November 28 on your calendars and mark it with pink and blue bows.

Light up your favorite social media outlet with a request for friends, family – even perfect strangers – to help precious infants overcome opioid addiction and get a better start in life.

Making a difference is easy.

All it takes is a decision by you to make a heart-sized donation to support The Grace Project – a Franciscan Health-based philanthropy that helps drug-addicted mothers and their babies.

The Grace Project has a singular mission – doing whatever is necessary to give moms the best chance of delivering and raising a healthy baby while reducing the incidence of neonatal abstinence syndrome and the painful withdrawal caused by maternal addiction.

The initiative also provides assistance with rent, food, baby needs, medical transportation, even the comfort of a hot meal to recovering patients and families.

The impacts of drugs across our region and throughout our country are gut-wrenching. The effects drugs have on newborns are heart-breaking.

Tremors, inability to be soothed, seizures, difficulty nursing and the non-stop crying of a suffering infant begin within days of birth but can last for weeks or months.

You have the power to make a life-changing difference for infants born at Franciscan Health.

Already, 31 moms in the Indianapolis area have been helped. Your donation can help expand the program to help more women who live in Indiana and South Suburban Chicago.

No gift is too small.

Here are just a few ways, Franciscan Health employees, their friends and families are finding ways to donate.

Some of us are are giving up beverages prepared by our favorite baristas for a few days and donating those savings to make a difference.Others are eating at home at least one more time per week and using those dollars to help others.

The possibilities are endless.

On November 28, please donate what you can in support of The Grace Project. Whatever you give during this season of blessings and thanksgiving, please make it heart-sized…
