For months, Chinese media celebrated their cultural breakthrough: “Trump Falls in Love with Me, the White House Janitor” had allegedly earned $150 million from American audiences in just three months. Chinese producers had finally cracked the code — give Americans politically incorrect trash, and they’d pay premium prices.
The story was irresistible. It was also completely fake.

Chinese News Outlets decided to fact-check the phenomenon. They searched Reelshort (the platform allegedly hosting it), YouTube, IMDb — everywhere Chinese media claimed this cultural tsunami was happening.
Result: The show doesn’t exist. Never did.
