But somewhere between moving countries, endless responsibilities, and the constant buzz of my phone, my love for books slipped quietly away.

Instead of curling up with a novel, I found myself endlessly scrolling TikTok – quick hits of dopamine that left me entertained for a moment but strangely empty afterward.

I even started believing I no longer had the attention span to read.

But this year, something shifted. Today, I read more than I have in years – and actually enjoy it. Here’s how I rebuilt my reading habit in a world designed to distract us.

The Moment It Clicked

It began with a simple, almost guilty act.

One evening, after a long workday, I picked up a book I had bought months ago and told myself, “Just five pages.”

Thirty minutes later, I was still reading.
