Damn those things are brain rot!
Over the past five months, people have reacted surprised and even shocked. Because I deleted my TikTok and Instagram.
“How can you not have Insta anymore?”
“I still want to send you memes!”
“Are you turning into a boomer?”
And these five months have given me some special insights. But let’s start at the beginning.
Why I deleted it
The main reason I deleted it at that moment was because of the brain rot I was experiencing. I had a daily screen time of over 10 hours, and I just couldn’t stop scrolling. The worst part was that my brain could only handle short impulses.
I love reading so much, and I just couldn’t do it anymore.
Every five minutes I needed to be distracted by something. So I grabbed my phone, scrolled quickly and aimlessly through some apps without really seeing or reading anything. Then read maybe one and a half pages and repeated the whole thing again.
And this didn’t just happen when I was reading, but with almost everything I did in daily life.
