A separate weekly picks post is needed for this
I decided to have some fun and see what a computer can do when it comes to making weekly NFL picks. Originally, I had included the picks into my own weekly posts, but decided to make separate posts, as I’m having the Chat generate a sentence or two behind the reasoning behind the picks.
Now that I’m writing that, I feel like I should start implementing that into my own weekly picks. What do you think?
Anyway, I want to make this as short and sweet as possible, so here are the Chat’s picks for Week 6:
Happy Week 6! 🏈
Here’s Chat’s Picks — with a quick line or two of reasoning for each:
Eagles over Giants — Philly’s offense has too many weapons, and the Giants can’t keep up in a shootout.
Jets over Broncos — The Jets’ defense matches up well with Denver’s struggling offense, and they’re due for a bounce-back week.
Ravens over Rams — Lamar and the Ravens’ ground game should control tempo against a soft run defense.
Cowboys over Panthers — Dallas has the better quarterback, better defense, and better everything right now.
Colts over Cardinals — Indy’s defense is underrated, and Minshew can play just well enough to steal this one.
Seahawks over Jaguars — The Jags’ inconsistency keeps haunting them; Seattle at home is a different beast.
Dolphins over Chargers — Too much speed. Miami’s offense is a track meet that the Chargers won’t keep pace with.
Steelers over Browns — Classic AFC North slugfest, but Pittsburgh’s pass rush will make the difference late.
Patriots over Saints — Bill Belichick finds a way against mid-tier offenses, even with limited firepower of his own.
Raiders over Titans — Vegas has shown flashes of life on both sides of the ball; Tennessee still looks flat.
49ers over Buccaneers — San Francisco’s balance and discipline should outclass the Bucs’ offense.
Packers over Bengals — Jordan Love has been solid, and Cincy’s defense hasn’t looked sharp enough to slow him down.
Chiefs over Lions — Mahomes at home is almost automatic, even against a tough Detroit team.
Bills over Falcons — Buffalo is the better team on both sides of the ball; Allen should rebound here.
Commanders over Bears — Washington’s defensive front will give Chicago’s line all kinds of problems.
