Talking to AI made me feel less alone in my money struggles
I do not usually talk to robots about my money problems. But the other night I was sitting with my phone in my hand, bank account balance staring back at me like it was laughing, and I thought why not. I opened ChatGPT and typed, “I am broke.”
That is it. Just those three words. I did not have the energy to explain the backstory. The bills, the rent, the random little expenses that always show up out of nowhere like uninvited guests. The way you think you are finally catching up and then life just whispers, not so fast.
And to my surprise, ChatGPT answered back like it actually cared.
The First Reply That Stopped Me
I was expecting something robotic. Something like “Here are 10 budgeting tips.” But instead it sounded almost too human. It asked me if I wanted practical ways to make money right now, or long term strategies to get out of the broke cycle. That one question hit me hard. Because no one had ever asked me that so directly. Friends usually just say “hang in there” or “same here bro.” Family says “you should save more.” But no one asks, do you want short term survival or long term freedom.
