By skyforbes Does anyone have experience with Illinois Medicaid Estate Recovery/Clawback? My grandma is on Medicare AND Medicaid for long term care services for the past 7 years(long term care/adult day care and home aide/community based care).
I think Medicaid can look back 5 years and take the money from the estate, but does anyone have experience with that?
The young lawyer(to establish will) I met with said the likelihood of Medicaid clawing back her home is very small as the only asset she has is her house (other than small amounts of cash and jewelry), but I am unsure if that is true
