Yesterday, I asked ChatGPT what day it was and I realized maybe the robots aren’t stealing our jobs but we are handing them our common sense. You know the human brain? That big, beautiful computer in your skull? Mine and probably yours now runs on OpenAI’s servers.

Be honest, when was the last time you asked AI to do a task that you could have figured in seconds. It feels convenient, until you realize you are slowly outsourcing your brain. You think it will make you appear smarter but what if it’s making you forget how to think.

AI is not always a threat. The problem is over-reliance on it. When you hand over every little task to ChatGPT, you are not just saving time but slowly outsourcing your ability to think.

Take memory, for example. You stop holding onto basic facts because the bot will always remember them for you. But memory isn’t just trivia — it’s the foundation your thoughts are built on. Without it, you are left scrolling back for answers you once had in your own head.

Creativity suffers too. Instead of wrestling with ideas, you let ChatGPT hand you polished ones in seconds. But creativity lives in that messy in-between — the struggle, the failed drafts, the “what ifs.” Skip that, and you are not creating, you are just curating.
