Is Die Hard the only holiday movie to spawn a franchise of non-holiday movies?

We all agree that Die Hard is a Christmas movie and was intended as such by the filmmakers, but lately I’ve been thinking how weird it is that it spawned a franchise of non-Christmas movies.

I recall Die Hard 2 being set at Christmas so we can count that one as a holiday movie but parts 3, 4, and 5 definitely aren’t. Die Hard 3, for example takes place on a random day in the summer and is not connected to any holiday.

Are there any other franchises that follow this pattern? Usually when a holiday movie gets a sequel they lean even harder into the holiday theme instead of completely abandoning it.
