By skyforbes Here’s what’s happening:
• Whenever I say “search online,” “look on the internet,” “check this online,” etc., the model answers “Sure, I’ll check online,” and then… nothing.
• No browsing tool opens.
• No results.
• It just pretends it browsed.
• Happens across many conversations and sessions.
On top of that:
• Sometimes it ignores half of my instructions, even simple ones.
• The whole workflow breaks because it won’t actually activate browsing unless I force some weird phrasing or reset the session.
I’m using the Windows desktop app, GPT-5.1 (all variants), and this problem keeps repeating for months.
Anyone else experiencing this? Any fixes, or is this an actual regression in GPT-5.1?
Because honestly, it’s getting to the point where it’s affecting my work and I’m considering stopping using it.
