They are who we said they were.
So Joni Ernst recently had a town hall where a woman said Medicaid cuts will kill people and she responded ‘Well we all are going to die.’
After the political backlash, she put out a video on social media where she ‘apologized’ for assuming people knew we’re all going to die and that the tooth fairy isn’t real, then she ended on offering eternal life through Jesus Christ.
This is literally stealing Medicaid from millions then offering prayer.
Actually, if anything, it’s worse because she explicitly acknowledged people will die TWICE and smiled in a condescending manner.
So is it the expression of Christian faith by a government official that pisses me off or the fact that she just can’t manage a real response? Like, it’s very common for Republicans to just lean on some faith-based appeal whenever they get called out and Ernst did that here.
She didn’t want to give a real answer, she gave a stock response.
These people told us they weren’t gutting Medicaid during the campaign, spent months saying they wouldn’t then they go ahead and gut Medicaid.
What message does it send to people when you are able to pass a bill like that…
