Working Style: In Office | Full-TimeWe are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lead Interior Designer to join our clients team. This is a lead role for an experienced designer who thrives at the intersection of creative vision, technical expertise, and client engagement. The Lead Interior Designer will take ownership of the technical and interior architecture aspects of projects, ensuring seamless execution from concept through completion.This role is ideal for someone who balances design precision with project leadership, is adept at navigating construction and documentation, and can communicate with professionalism and discretion in a high-end residential environment.Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Oversee all technical and interior architecture aspects of projects from concept to completion.
- Lead construction administration, including site visits, contractor coordination, issue resolution, and field reports.
- Serve as the primary liaison with architects, contractors, and consultants on technical matters.
Design Documentation & Technical Oversight
- Produce and review comprehensive construction drawings, millwork details, and specifications.
- Redline and ensure accuracy, consistency, and constructability across drawing sets.
- Uphold quality and precision across all technical deliverables.
Client InteractionCommunicate confidently and professionally with clients, translating technical issues into clear, client-friendly solutions.Ensure the design intent is executed accurately throughout the construction process.Maintain the highest levels of discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.Vendor & Consultant CoordinationPartner with fabricators, artisans, and product vendors to translate design intent into built realities.Research, source, and specify materials and finishes that align with design and technical requirements.Manage external partnerships to ensure timely and high-quality outcomes.Team Collaboration & MentorshipCollaborate with design colleagues to merge creative vision with technical execution.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers, supporting their technical growth.Contribute to a collaborative, solution-oriented, and drama-free team culture.Project ManagementManage project schedules, budgets, and workflows as they relate to technical deliverables.Anticipate challenges, resolve issues, and document all project decisions and changes.Maintain organized and transparent project records.Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in interior design or interior architecture.
- Bachelors degree in Interior Architecture or Interior Design (preferred). An associates degree in Interior Architecture, Drafting, or a related technical field with strong experience is also considered.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, with the ability to produce complete construction drawing sets.
- Strong knowledge of construction, building systems, detailing, and materials.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Asana, PowerPoint, and Studio Designer.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and coordinating with artisans, fabricators, and contractors.
- Strong professional network of showrooms, artisans, and product representatives.
