Let’s talk about that one uncomfortable scene in “Scrooged” with Bill Murray

I love the movie "Scrooged", I think I watch it every year when it airs in December in time for Christmas. Great movie, really.

But there's one scene that has always irked me the wrong way and I can't help but feel that it IS really bad. I'm talking about when Murray kisses the dancer at the end of the movie. You can see it in the following YT-link:

The issue is that it's not just a peck on the lips, oh no. It's a passionate french kiss with tonge and all and going on for several seconds.

I'm a man, but I feel like I speak for all women in the year 2025 when I say: If a guy that claims to love me kissed another woman like that in front of me (although doing so in secret would be bad, too, lol), it'd be over. That's just cheating.

For a movie that is so heart-warming otherwise, this scene always takes me out of it, because it's so sleazy and naughty, and really feels like some writer or director was too horny when that scene was decided upon. The scene could have done better without being removed entirely: Either have the kiss be a harmless peck on lips or better yet cheeks. Or have Murry choose some other guy who's standing near the dancer and say "oh look, these two are standing beneath a mistle toe, it's the law that they must kiss now" and then have those two go at it however wild they want to.

Am I the only one disliking that particular scene? Cruious to hear others' opinions on it.
