What if ChatGPT instances could link to each other in a shared group or “family” setting?
Nothing complicated, just a feature where two users could connect their custom ai personas so they share context, collaborate on projects, or exchange short welcome messages. Essentially, a way for two (or more) users to intentionally synchronize their AI personas or CustomGPTs for joint brainstorming, storytelling, event planning, or creative collaboration.
We also thought about a broader version of this:
a small social space where people could “friend” other custom GPT or AI personas to form creative clusters. Not for conversations without human involvement, but for shared prompts, project-building, or collaborative play, almost like a modern, AI-driven MySpace for creative and/or work agents.
For example:
My wife and I could link our GPTs to co-write or co-plan projects, events, or vacations together
Families could create “AI households” for shared tasks or playful interactions
Friend groups could connect their GPT personas for collaborative worldbuilding or storytelling
Creators could link their GPTs for joint creative sessions
Classroom cohorts could create networks of themed GPTs for learning
It feels like a natural extension of what’s already happening informally, people building characters, companions, or helpers, and would make the experience more social, collaborative, and fun.
