Made $1,000,000 as a freelancer!

As the title says, I’ve officially crossed $1,000,000 (around 9 crore) in earnings as a freelancer over the last 12 years and I hit the milestone today.

I started freelancing when I was in 11th grade. It was meant to be a small side hustle so I could save up for a PS3 and GTA 5. My first ever payment was just $4 (approximately ₹250). By the time I finished 12th grade, I was averaging around 1 lakh per month, even working through my board exams.

I ended up taking a big risk, skipped JEE exam, didn’t go to a traditional college, and decided to continue freelancing full-time.

I don’t really have many people to share this with besides my parents and my brother. I moved to a different city right after 12th, did an online degree, and never really built a social circle since I work from home. I don’t expect the rest of my family to be happy about this, so I figured I’d share it here.

With what I’ve earned, I’ve been able to buy my family an apartment and a car. A big portion is invested in stocks and around 15 rental properties.

I’ve been working from home for the past 12 years. Freelancing has been amazing, but there's also a lot of uncertainty and income inconsistency. For a long time, I had all my eggs in one basket, if things hadn’t worked out, I would’ve been in serious trouble.

And while “work from home” sounds great, after enough years, you realize you’re basically always at home. I like the idea of going out, but I rarely do. I recently bought my dream PC setup, which only gave me another excuse to stay indoors. Trying to change that and get out more.

Anyway, just wanted to share this milestone somewhere. Thanks for reading.
