Markiplier is about to break the industry

If iron lung does well, considering the number of theaters that have picked it up. This could have monumental impacts on how movies could be distributed.

No longer would you need to submit a film to festivals or have a major publisher pick up your film and fund it, you can do it all through social media and through a large fan base or presence get theaters to pick it up. This could end up having huge ramifications on the movie establishment going forward

Update: Obviously you will still need money and influence to get theaters to take your film. What I am saying is that the deep rooted establishment, the almost cult like hierarchy within the industry could lose some of its influence if more films like iron lung are made.

Currently in order to have a movie play in theaters at all, especially widespread, you have to go through all the proper channels and play by the system's rules through film festivals, distributors, etc., and that is what would break.
