His assets are under $2,000, no properties or anything at all, he has a separate $1,200 cremation burial savings account that we signed the Designation of Funds form for and submitted. He has SSI and receives only $962 a month for it. He currently lives with my brother and I. My brother makes no money, and I've been at a job for 3 months now working full time for $17.50/hr. My father also hasn't paid taxes in years since he didn't have a job.
His Medicaid app was pending for almost 3 months and we were told today we need to contact the IRS to submit an application? I don't understand. We are losing our minds here and we were hoping he'd have Medicaid now and be in a home within a month.
The person we spoke to through the IRS also has no idea what we're talking about, since SSI and Medicaid is separate. They don't have any application for Medicaid or anything to do with it.
