Michael Movie Teaser Review & Billboard Hot 100 Prediction (Thriller)

Yes! The Michael movie “teaser” is finally here! By now, I’m sure you all have seen it and watched it a million times like I have! Thanks to the MJ fam ‘in the know’ on social media, we were aware this was coming, which was a good thing. Some of us might have entered a ‘State of Shock’ had it just popped up unexpectedly! Lol. But alas, the biopic teaser is finally here, and we can all take a collective sigh! The biopic era is upon us!

Over the last couple of days, I’ve been enjoying all the love Michael has been receiving, which started with “Thriller.” Thriller is the official song of Halloween, and don’t let anyone tell you different! Celebrities like Ciara have dressed up as Michael, and many people have delved into their love for the “Thriller” short film and song—it has really been a “Michaeltastic” time!

This year’s “Thriller Challenge” was amazing! So amazing that Thriller is predicted to be in the top 10 on Billboard’s Hot 100! This would make Michael the only artist to have a top 10 Billboard Hot 100 hit in the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, ’00s, and ’10s! Fans worked hard streaming and purchasing the song, along with the general public that usually streams “Thriller” during the Halloween season, along with its radio airplay. So here’s hoping we get Michael in the top ten! On the UK official singles chart, “Thriller” reached #9, surpassing its peak placement of #10 from 42 years ago!

Now back to the biopic teaser! It has amassed 116.2 million views in its first 24 hours, making it the most viewed trailer for any music biopic in history! It’s also the biggest debut trailer for the movies film studio, Lionsgate! And did we really expect anything less? Michael is the king! This is only the teaser—just imagine how it’s going to be when the actual trailer drops!

I won’t list everything I loved about the teaser because I adored the entire thing! However, the highlight for me was hearing Michael speak at the end. Jaafar Jackson, who plays Michael in the film, is actually Michael Jackson’s real-life nephew, being the son of Jermaine Jackson. He has perfectly captured his uncle’s voice and sweet little giggle! My heart both smiled and melted when I heard him!

The film’s visuals are on point, the details (yes, the orange juice was spotted on the conference room table in front of Mike), and the music! I can’t wait to hear Michael’s music thumping in theaters! The person who did the music mashup did an incredible job, and the audio is top-tier! It wouldn’t surprise me if someone who worked with Michael in the past was behind that!

And wow, the film’s director, Antoine Fuqua, screenwriter, John Logan, and producer Graham King, knew just how to tease us with the teaser intro, opening with the actor Kendrick Sampson portraying Quincy Jones, saying, “I know you’ve been waiting a long time for this!” Although he says it while addressing Mike in the studio, I loved the play on words! Yes, we have been waiting a long time for this!

The “Michael” movie hits theaters on April 24, 2026! Get your outfits ready, fam! I’m hoping there will be specially designed “Michael Jackson” popcorn buckets, drink containers, etc. in theaters!
