A Brief History of Yakuza
Yakuza Kiwami is a remake of the original Yakuza title, which was released on the PlayStation 2 back in 2005. The game introduced players to protagonist Kazuma Kiryu, an officer of the Tojo Clan criminal organization, who takes the fall for his boss’s murder and must navigate modern life in Kamurocho after a decade in jail.
The original Yakuza title was praised for its gripping storytelling, balanced humor, and memorable characters. While certainly rough around the edges, it laid the groundwork for the series’ current popularity. Fans can now look forward to diving into this highly-praised remake on the Nintendo Switch.
