No more medical, legal, financial advice? Such a bummer

My over 80 yr old mom lives in a remote area where healthcare is hard to schedule and her Drs don't update for weeks. ChatGPT has been so valuable in understanding, mitigating and making sound decisions. In addition, it has reduced stress where the 'unknown' is hard to live with.

I understand on one hand, but shutting down all related questions is such a loss. Thoughts or experiences?

From Chat:

"According to multiple news reports, the changes to how ChatGPT handles medical, legal and financial advice went into effect on October 29, 2025.

What that means

From that date, ChatGPT “will no longer give specific medical, legal or financial advice” — instead it will provide general explanations, outline mechanisms and principles, and direct users to consult a licensed professional.

One user note: “gpt won’t analyse legal or medical pictures as of 10-29”. according to reddit user

This appears to be a policy change by OpenAI — in response to liability/regulatory concerns as of 10/29/25
