Following up what’s been both an eventful year for Mochakk and PinkPantheress, the two artists celebrate this landmark year with a remix of Pink’s track “Noises” from her mixtape Fancy That. The song is one of many reinterpreted songs from her recent remix album: Fancy Some More?

Teaming up with various producers such as Kaytranada, Fancy Some More? sees Pink give listeners a slew of fresh beats to bop to, with Mochakk’s remix of the project’s sixth track a much needed facelift. On the original Fancy That, the minute long track (which felt like an interlude) was a fast-paced, dnb banger that showcased Pink having bouts of paranoia.

For Fancy Some More, Mochakk takes things up a notch and re-envisions the original song. The Brazilian producer slows the pace down significantly, almost pushing it to the 7-minute mark. Doing so allows him to fully engulf listeners into these new textures and sounds. This “Noises” remix is unapologetically house, which is felt during the various breaks in-between Pink’s pitched-down vocals. Mochakk adds theses small nuances such as a glimmering guitar strum and twinkling synths, to help give the track a little beauty. Towards the song’s end when the pace picks up a bit, is where Mochakk enters a flow state and brings in this incredible vibe that sends off the track perfectly.

Mochakk is no stranger to the house genre, if his hit “Da Fonk” is any indication. The same can be said for PinkPantheress as well, having dabbled in the genre in some regard at various points in her discography as well. So it made perfect sense the two would join forces and create (or in this case, remix) a song together. Compared to the other collabs on Fancy Some More, Mochakk’s contribution is a standout for it’s atmospheric sound, and as a seldom listener of the producer, the track gave me a clear idea into Mochakk’s eclectic sound.

If there was one flaw I did have, it easily is the song’s runtime. Personally I don’t think it needed to be 6:31 long, but I imagine within a Dj setlist it probably would make sense for mixing purposes. Overall though, I was pleased with Pink and Mochakk’s remix of “Noises”. Giving the original song a whole new sound and in some ways, outshining it as well.

For my final rating, I’m giving PinkPantheress and Mochakk’s “Noises” remix a solid 7.5/10. You can check out the full track and the rest of these reinterpreted songs off of the recently released Fancy Some More? The remix album also features the original mixtape, as well as another track list with guest vocals ranging from Anitta and Kylie Minogue.

Final Rating: 7.5/10
