By skyforbes I’m looking for help as to how to expedite getting Medicaid for my elderly mother in law who all of the sudden finds herself needing home health care. She is not capable of doing anything on her own- toilet, bathing, food, etc. If she is even able to get up she is a fall risk as she has fallen a couple of times. She currently has medicare and I’m at a loss as how to start this whole process. I need to figure out how to get her care at home. She is in dire need of having someone to be with her during the day. Where should I start and what will be most cost effective? Do I contact health insurance companies- which ones will provide the most services for this type of situation? Do I contact an elder lawyer- are there lawyers who will do this for free? Do I contact a home health agency? I’m really at a loss and would appreciate any guidance! What is the fastest way to get her Medicaid? Thank you so much!
