I wanted to keep the design relatively simple like the older megas and really dig into its main inspiration, the Shisa. The Pokédex entries mention its fiery energy in its body being the source of its speed and power so I thought it would make sense for that fiery power to be overflowing upon mega evolving and its fur almost looking burnt from the energy. I really liked the idea of the flames resembling the symbol for fire blast too so I incorporated that in! I think it ended up not too bad!
