A collaboration of PayPal and OpenAI.

PayPal has been transforming global commerce for decades now by creating excellent experiences that make money dealings easier, personalized, and secure.
It’s better known for eWallet.
It would make checkouts from ChatGPT feasible, easier, secure, and prompt. Yes, ChatGPT is already in selling business (See my prior article on it). Yes, ChatGPT is selling products, but currently, it sends a link to buy; soon, it will create checkout options as the deal states.
Thus would need permission to access information from user devices, hence it would use agentic AI.
It’s called the Agenic Commerce Protocol or simply ACP.
ACP can facilitate commerce within ChatGPT as a prompt or through a UI.
Aim–Millions of ChatGPT users can search for products, add them to their cart, and pay with PayPal directly within ChatGPT, utilizing an instant checkout feature.
PayPal has tens of millions of users, and OpenAI has hundreds of millions of users weekly. Imagine the strength of money handling needed by PayPal then!

ACP would assist businesses, as OpenAI provides product engineering across various industries.
Millions of products would be searchable with ACP.

— What kind of advertising would be there.
— -Advertisement algorithm for products?
— -Search Algorithm of product search?
— -Can ChatGPT search be biased?
— -Would search learn from the payment made?
— -Secure systems as currently some privacy issues are there.
— Rating of products? From other platforms or ratings, starting from scratch on the OpenAI platform?
— What would happen if Amazon Pay get ahead in its innovation?
Additionally, with this deal, OpenAI grants PayPal employees access to Enterprise and other API access.
PayPal has also dealt with other companies, such as Google.
