By skyforbes I loved how Amadeus (1984) uses a narrative structure that could really be used for many figures in history, telling a story of a resentful inferior composer who hates that Mozart is less sophisticated/polite than him despite being so talented, while salieri fails to recognize that it’s Amadeus’s upbringing that is both why he’s great but also not well rounded. The story being about a famous person makes It easier to get into It (and makes my gf want to watch It) but the real greatness in the movie has less to do with who the characters actually are and more so the drama involved.
I’m looking for movies like this that combine a great narrative structure with a story or characters that my girlfriend will want to learn about and/or really beautiful visuals and music. Doesn’t need to be drama either really any genre film
So to reiterate I’m not looking for another composer movie just something with a similar combination of interesting characters or settings and great plot structure
Another example would be The Favourite (2018)
