Personal Goals Review 2025 #3. I set out some personal goals for 2025…

Here we go again. As has become my pattern at year end, I set out some personal goals for 2025 and did a review in Q1 and Q2. It’s now time to review progress at Q3.

TL;DR: A pretty decent quarter. Going to miss the book target unless I hibernate for the next three months.

>> Read 50 books. Will miss target on current trajectory. 30 books read so far. Progress on the sub-targets:

  • Read two Victorian classics. Two read so far, both by Jane Austen — Persuasion and Northanger Abbey.
  • Read three books to educate myself more about race. One read so far — Pathfinders by Jim Al-Khalili.

>> Summarise 100% of non-fiction books read. On target. Read and summarised 5so far.

>> Cycle 4500 miles. Exceeding trajectory. 4,341 miles cycled so far. After doing the big ride in June, I continued to train for another big ride in September, which meant keeping the miles up.

>> Cycle a Gran Fondo each month. Over. I’ve done 18 rides of 100k or more so far this year. Missed doing one in Jan and July.

>> Cycle to Work 3 times a month. Done it 9 times this quarter, which means I’m pretty much bang on the target.

>> Get 1,000 Bluesky Followers. 549 so far. Not exactly viral, with only increasing by 11 since Q2.

>> Get to my target weight. Maintained for another quarter, which is probably also the first time I’ve achieved for the first time ever whilst I’ve been tracking. As noted in Q2, this has been helped by reducing the target by 1.3Kg at the start of the year.

>> Write two “Thought” Pieces. None so far.

>> Do Some Substantial Research. Can’t see this happening now and the data grows ever more obsolete day by day.
