When voting, (Early voting has started, go do it) on the back of your ballot, there's 6 proposals. Proposition 6 is to move city elections into even years to align with federal elections. The stated reason is to let city elections benefit from increased voter turnout. However…
- If city elections are happening at the same time as federal, they are sharing the same finite pool of donors/volunteers/campaign workers, and this will make things much more of a pain to run.
-
City issues will be overlooked in our finite attention economy over the national races.
-
I like having something to vote on in odd years.
That is why I am asking you to please, vote "No" on prop 6.
