First, let me get a few things out of the way.

As soon as I heard that Vince Gilligan, who created Breaking Bad and co-created Better Call Saul, was writing a new sci-fi drama for Apple TV starring Rhea Seehorn, his co-lead from Saul, I was on board. I knew I would at least watch the pilot. Gilligan’s track record is too good to ignore, and Seehorn was absolutely electric as Kim Wexler, the love interest to Bob Odenkirk’s scummy lawyer Jimmy McGill, a.k.a. Saul Goodman. Gilligan and co-creator Peter Gould admitted that as originally conceived, Kim was going to be a throw-away character, but Seehorn brought so much versatility and grounding to the role, they ended up writing the whole series around Kim’s relationship with Jimmy.
