By skyforbes I decided this morning to try to fully reset chatGPT deleting all memories and instructions it had for me. After deleting everything I could find, logging out of all devices, and stating a new fresh chat … it still has extensive memory and context about me –even trying it on separate devices.
There’s nothing else to delete in my settings, and the LLM denies knowing anything while still able to spit out personal data I’ve shared (before clearing) stating that there is thread context data that it doesn’t have access to and can’t delete but will inform the chat.
It seems insane that there’s literally no way to start at zero again without bias. That ChatGPT got hung up on previous instructions is why I want to reset but this is preventing that. Has anyone else noticed this or found a workaround? Is a full account deletion and making a new account the only way around this?
