Product Placement Synergy in Future Disney Movies

I have a little concern that with Zootopia 2, upcoming future Disney films might be mandated to do product placement and brand synergy of other company IPs that are important to Iger’s legacy.

Toy Story 5 could have an entire mandated scene by shareholders featuring Marvel and Star Wars toys. Maybe another Bob Iger voice cameo because shareholders love him.

One of my least favorite things to come out of Disney is Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and the 2025 live action remakes of Snow White and Lilo and Stitch. My personal take is that they overshadowed an original Pixar movie that is Elio. And it had me worried people would rather watch uncanny CGI like the seven dwarfs, MODOK, or even CGI Jumba and Pleakley.

I even have a notion that Disney’s 2026 will prioritize promoting Avengers: Doomsday if it cost the company $1 billion dollars in production and marketing.

It probably has me thinking that Ralph Breaks the Internet is one of Disney’s most commercialized movies yet and a preview of Bob Iger’s legacy set in stone. That movie and the MCU probably had a major influence with Ready Player One and Space Jam: A New Legacy over at WB where the IP shown front and center have no purpose but to sell HBO Max subscribers.

Do you think future Disney movies will lean heavily in more synergy and product placement like the Simpsons Disney+ specials?
