Product review for Woodlink 3 in 1 platform feeder

I have been wanting to try an above ground feeder for a while as I have a bird feeder with a camera that is mounted high up on a pole.

This bird feeder is great and gets the job done most of the time, but what I don’t like about this feeder in particular is the large mess that it leaves behind especially because it is above the ground and the birds will just spit out empty seeds all over the grass below.

I dislike this mess because it it difficult to clean up. This is where my interest for the above ground feeder comes in.

As a result, I went on Amazon and found a product that I believe will get the job done the Woodlink 3 in 1 platform feeder.

Testing the feeder

The feeder itself has 3 ways to mount itself I tried two of them as I did not have a pole to mount it on and the only one I preferred was the placing it on the ground.

But when i did do that I had to take my time because the metal legs at the bottom were in my opinion kind of delicate and one did come loose when I was stretching them to place on the ground so keep that in mind when using the metal legs of the feeder and also place the feeder on an area that is leveled as well.

But after you are able to set it up on the ground by the metal legs all you have to do is put bird feed in. I did watch when I put the feed in as I did not want to put too much weight in case in it would topple over so I feel I put just the right amount in. After putting the feed in that is it there is no other steps.

Review

I would rate this a 3 out of 5 stars. I loved the 3 in 1 concept, but did not feel at ease using those wire straps to hang the feeder because I felt they could break if to much weight is added.

So I feel the other two options were the best to mount the pole in which I did not test, and the freestanding option which I test.

When I was testing the freestanding option one of the metal legs did come loose and it made me a little nervous when leaving it out with bird feed inside.

The legs are not particully durable even though they are easy to use I was not a fan of them when it came to using them.

One of the downsides of using a feeder like this is the fact that you can’t watch what birds come to the feeder as there is no camera attached that was one of the plus sides of the bird feeder I have already.

But you can always have a camera facing this feeder to watch the birds or sit outside to watch them pass by even though that could be a little time consuming.

Overall though this feeder is very easy entry level type of feeder that overtime people will come to enjoy.
