RETRO REVIEW: 5 Years Later, Christopher Nolan’s Most Confusing Movie Finally Makes Sense (And It’s Brilliant)

Even the worst Christopher Nolan movie is going to offer something to audiences that the average movie does not. When Tenet was released in 2020, there were a lot of details surrounding the film that deepened its impact (or lack thereof) on audiences. It has become famously known as the movie that ended a very long relationship between Nolan and Warner Brothers, forcing him to turn to another studio for his next project.

The expectations and hype leading up to Tenet were unparalleled because fans couldn’t help but see comparisons to Nolan’s earlier films such as Inception and even Memento. Furthermore, it was the only movie strictly limited to a theatrical release during the COVID pandemic of 2020. Nolan strives for his films to be seen in theaters and wouldn’t accept anything less for Tenet. With all the noise surrounding the film, it hindered the viewing experience for a number of people. While it is complex and obscure, it is no less riveting. There is a lot to enjoy even now, as it deserves to be revisited five years later…
