Before he was in government, the Florida Republican was known for fleecing Medicare and Medicaid
There is a reason many people call Senator Rick Scott (R — ̶D̶i̶c̶k̶e̶n̶s̶i̶a̶n̶ ̶E̶n̶g̶l̶a̶n̶d̶Florida) Voldemort. Not does he look a bit like Ralph Fiennes in the “Harry Potter” franchise but his policies toward the poor are draconian at best and evil at worst.
The “Rescue America” plan will increase poverty
Since the State of the Union, where President Joe Biden called out the GOP for its desire to cut Social Security and Medicare, Scott’s plans for the programs have come under some scrutiny. Remember, not only is he a senator from a very large and important state but he is also the head of the Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee (RSCC) AND challenged Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R- ̶M̶o̶s̶c̶o̶w̶-KY) for that position. He helps set the policy agenda for the party nationwide.
Despite their cries that “Republicans have NEVER said they want to cut Social Security and Medicare!” their own words and actions tell a different story. Section 6 of the “Rescue America” plan says this:
All federal legislation sunsets in 5 years. If a law is worth…
