By skyforbes I’ve consumed a lot of content of GTA RP and also Gmod RP I’ve also played Gmod RPs a few times and I’ve noticed something.
They’re all incredibly boring and I would guess this would also apply to GTA RP. You just sort of walk around for hours on end doing nothing or grind because if you do any RP scenarios that are actually fun you’d get banned the only times I’ve actually had fun on gmod RP where the timed I’ve gotten into conversations with people.
I’ve watched a few trolling videos on Gmod RP and GTA RP servers and the trolls appear to be the only people making interesting things happen but whenever they do anything interesting and people actually have fun they just get banned.
I’ve been roleplaying on one particular game on Roblox called “Neon District” for years now because unlike Gmod RP servers it’s actually fun. It’s just set in a generic cyberpunk dystopia and has no rules or structure to it what I mean by that is you could for example play as a corrupt police chief who working with the criminal syndicates and you wouldn’t get punished by moderators or have to grind days on end and climb a hierarchy to get that job. (For context neon district is entirely text based role play so you can’t actually use weapons to harm someone.)
Sure under a system like neon districts people can power play or troll but you don’t need to call a moderator to deal with them you could just ignore them and move on.
But under the systems that Gmod RP and GTA RP use your forced to abide by arbitrary rules that will make the game less fun or go along with an RP you don’t like because the rules force you too. It’s also quiet silly that these RP servers on GTA and Gmod effectively become second jobs you shouldn’t have to work an eight hour shift for weeks just to get move up an In game hierarchy.
I understand why these systems are needed for certain servers but the rules should be a lot looser and you shouldn’t have to work a second job just to progress in ranks. More people should also consider making games with the free form RP neon district has because with robloxes age bracket update it’s future is looking quiet grim.
Edit: switching servers isn’t a good solution because pretty much everyone just copies the same formula all the larger servers use and it makes gameplay boring as hell. Seemingly most RP servers exist because either the guy in charge wants to power trip, they want to make money off it or both and it’s hurting the genre.
