Sharing ChatGPT Conversations — What You Should Know

We can now share conversations, results and experiences through links.

It’s never been easier (or more tempting) to share your ChatGPT conversations. With “shared links,” you can create a unique URL to let others view a full ChatGPT chat thread—no more scrambling to take screenshots or copy-paste bits and pieces. But like any tool, it has its perks and pitfalls.

What Are Shared Links?

Shared links let you take an entire ChatGPT conversation (up to the moment you share) and turn it into a web-viewable snapshot. Anyone with that link can see the prompts and responses.

The links are available across platforms—on the web version of ChatGPT and in the iOS and Android apps.

How to Create, Update, and Delete Links

To share a conversation, hover over a chat in your thread and click the share link option. You’ll see a preview of what will be shared.

Within the share interface, you can also choose whether the link can be indexed by search engines (i.e. made more publicly discoverable).
