I subscribed for a couple of months when gpt5 launched. It is pretty straightforward. I got to use deep thinking and deep whatever, also codex…
I am also subscribed in TRAE IDE to code (used cursor and TRAE seemed like a cheaper alternative, even though lately it started pushing its "SOLO mode" and forgot about sota models.
Now I turned to google (antigravity would sub TRAE) and gemini would sub GPT5.1. The thing is, I can use ai studio, Jules, VS Code with Code assist, etc, etc… I never subscribe to gemini because the only upside by paying is to use gemini 3 thinking in the web, and more cloud space.
Am I wrong in this thinking? What can an google AI plus user (7,99€/month) get that free users can't in termos of coding? More important, even AI PRO users. what do they get, they can't use for "free"?
Struggling to find value in actually paying for google AI
I'm from Portugal and I use AI mostly for 2 things (coding and day to day chats, as in "hey gemini what's up about this?" or "Help me think about this idea…").
