Submission Guidelines for The Horror Book Review

Thank you for your interest in contributing to The Horror Book Review! We welcome thoughtful, well-written reviews that align with our horror hearts and speak to our readers. We are trying to keep it as simple as possible, but please review the guidelines below before submitting.

What We Publish

We accept original work focused on:

• Book reviews
• Horror, thriller, and dark fantasy reviews
• Stories about upcoming releases in the genre (NOT marketing)

We’re especially looking for stories that offer:

• A detailed review on horror books
• Both positive and negative (NOT hateful or hurtful) reviews welcome

Writing Requirements

• Length: Any length
• Formatted stories that are easy to read
• Images: Only use properly licensed or original images

Submission Process

1. Send your completed draft through Medium’s “Submit to publication” feature.
2. Follow the publication and the editor (latter is optional)

If accepted, an editor will contact you ASAP.

Editorial Policy

• We reserve the right to edit for clarity, tone, and length.
• Plagiarism, AI-generated spam, or inaccurate claims will result in rejection.
• Republishing elsewhere is allowed.
