By skyforbes The only rules are that at least some of the main/original cast must be alive, or at least someone from the last movie to continue the story. Actors must be willing and able to do it.
You can’t choose any franchise that is current making new material, so Harry Potter and Star Wars don’t count as they have TV shows and movies in the works.
These are not reboots, but direct sequels.
For me it would be this:
The Godfather – let’s see what happened to the family after Michael died and the new guy took over.
Vacation – Clark Griswald and family do on another vacation , maybe space tourism? Maybe another Christmas vacation?
2001: A Space Odyssey — only 2 movies were made but there are 4 novels in the series. Let’s see the rest of the story.
