I remember sitting in my chemistry laboratory one afternoon. We had to perform a simple calculation, nothing complex, just basic math. But we had dozens of calculations to complete, and time was tight.
Without thinking, I reached for my calculator. Looking around the room, I noticed every single classmate doing the same thing. In that moment, it struck me: when did we stop trusting our own minds to do basic math? We had all become dependent on a device to do our thinking for us.
