The trailer begins with the cheers of the crowd. The United States National Anthem begins, sung by the chilling voice of a young boy.
🎶🎵O say can you see, by the dawn’s early light,🎶🎵
🎶🎵What so proudly we hail’d at the twilight’s last gleaming,🎶🎵
It’s a large SuperBowl-Style football game. Black and Yellow seem to be the colors of the Gotham City Football Club. As the National Anthem plays, some people have their right hands on their hearts.
It also cuts to Bane (Tom Hardy) coming up from under the football arena.
It cuts to Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) and Alfred (Michel Caine) having a heart-to-heart conversation. “You are as precious to me as you were to your own Mother and Father,” Alfred told Bruce. “I swore to them that I would protec you,” there are now tears in Alfred’s eyes, “and I haven’t.”
It cuts to the Gotham City skyline right before the night comes.
🎶🎵Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,🎶🎵
It cuts to some sort of outdoor event in the evening. Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman) is about to speak on stage.
A man in a suit said, “The Mayor’s gonna dump him on Spring.”
“Really?” a guy in a military uniform asked.
“Uh-huh,” the suit guy said.
“But he’s a hero,” the military man said.
“A war hero,” the man in a suit said. “This is peace time.”
It cuts to Bruce Wayne walking into a party. He then danced with Celina Kyle (Anne Hathaway). “A storm is coming, Mr. Wayne,” Kyle told Bruce.
It cuts to a subway. A loud GRUMBLING sound caused the entire police force to duck down.
It cuts to Bane walking across some boiler rooms. I think he’s also underground, on the subway, in another area, far from the police.
It cuts to Celina Kyle fixing her pearl necklace in a vanity mirror. “You and your friends better batten down the hatches.”
It cuts to a LARGE EXPLOSION in the subway area. Commissioner Gordon hid behind a wall as the area was engulfed in flames.
It cuts to a mansion as furniture, appliances, and clothing all crashed from the top of the house. It’s CHAOS. Someone is ransacking the house. Someone smashed the credenzas and vases.
“Because when it hits,” Celina Kyle continues, “you’re all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large, and leave so little for the rest of us.” It cuts back to Bruce and Celina dancing at the party. Celina is actually whispering in Bruce’s ear while they dance. Let’s remember, Bruce Wayne is a nepo baby oligarch. In the real world, we hate people like this. It seems like Bane and Celina Kyle are leading an uprising to ‘eat the rich’ of Gotham City.
It cuts to an army of prisoners armed with guns. Holy sh**! What happened? Did Bane and Celine Kyle help escape and arm the prisoners for an uprising?
You hear a chilling chant in Arabic.
Deshi Bashara! Deshi Bashara!
It cuts to Bruce Wayne in some sort of prison. They are chanting the same thing. “What does that mean?” he asked an old man.
“Rise!” the old man responded.
Back in the football game, Bane pressed a detonator. The screen turned BLACK.
When it comes back, it’s the now iconic scene of the football player running across the field. The field behind him EXPLODES multiple times and falls back to the ground. After running the entire field, he looked behind him, and it’s just a large hole. All the other football players fell under as the shocked football player looked on.
And then, you hear Bane’s now iconic voice, “When Gotham is in ashes, you have my permission to die.”
And then, the chants come back.
Deshi Bashara! Deshi Bashara!
It cuts back to the party. A woman in red removed his mask and smiled at Bruce, it’s actor Marion Cotillard.
The Epic Conclusion
It cuts to Batman pointing a gun.
It cuts to daytime. A large military truck hit the Batmobile and flipped it over the side.
It cuts to daytime again. This is very rare. Batman doesn’t usually work during the day. It’s chaos. Police, civilians, and terrorists are all fighting each other. It must be the uprising. Batman is in the middle of the riot during the daytime, fighting with the people.
The chant continues.
Deshi Bashara! Deshi Bashara!
You also see a flying vehicle. It looks like a Batmobile with wings. They call it The Bat.
