If you're looking for something fun to do this weekend in Bay Ridge, The Henry George home, and his daughter Anna Angela (George) DeMille (sister-in-law to Cecil) will play a role in a historical walking tour I'm leading this Sunday, 8/17/2025 at 12:30PM. By the way, Henry George (1839 – 1897) was an American political economist, social philosopher and journalist. His writing created Progressive Era reform movements and inspired an economic philosophy known for the belief that people should own the value they produce themselves, but that the economic value of land (including natural resources) should belong equally to all members of society. George famously argued that a single tax on land values would create a more productive and just society.
