By skyforbes I always save the game before big moments even when autosave is right there. I know the game already saved, but I do it anyway.
I did it in God of War, right before I opened a big door.
I did it in Elden Ring, before trying a new build.
I did it in Red Dead Redemption Two, before a mission I knew would be fine.
It is a tiny habit, but it feels safe. It feels like control. It feels like routine.
I think many gamers do small things like that without even thinking. A habit we carry for years but never talk about.
