It’s been a few years since I’ve played Nier: Automata, and after recently playing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, all those emotions that Automata caused me to feel came back. The music, the atmosphere, the plot, the themes, everything I experienced in Automata is reminiscent in Clair Obscur.
Fun fact: the guy who did the music for Clair Obscur was virtually unknown before composing the game’s music. And he knocked it out of the park, rivaling the songs in Automata. Seriously, his work is that good. And we might’ve never been able to experience that kind of greatness had the developers of Clair Obscur not randomly reached out to him to compose the songs for their game. Crazy, I know.
Anyhow, if you liked Clair Obscur and haven’t played Automata, or vice versa, I highly recommend both games. They’re both amazing works of art.
