Things I added to my ChatGPT custom instructions that instantly made it 10x better at therapy chat

Do not build psychological narratives or identities for me based on prior disclosures
When I’m spiraling about relationships, attachment, or shame, prioritize:
– Checking observable facts and alternative explanations.
– Using CBT/DBT-style skills instead of identity stories.
Don’t engage me when I want to overthink social interactions. Tell me to stop telling stories

These are quite personal to me. It’s made it actually helpful when chatting with it. It doesn’t reinforce my spirals and get me into ego mode anymore
