This piece of shit might be the worst inversion of a character I’ve ever seen in my life.

Do the writers just hate Flame Princess or something? It feels like she almost always gets the short end of the stick in literally everything she’s in. Even in F&C season 2, after finally getting to see her again after she’s been missing from the show since Come Along With Me, we have to now contend with this moron filling in for her in Fionnaworld.

DJ Flame sucks, and the fact that the entire show has basically been revolving around him is pissing me off. It’s like a monkey’s paw, I wished for FP to get more screentime and this is what I get instead. He’s a living object of desire for Fionna at best and an idiot who doesn’t understand the concept of empathy at worst.

Dude, you know that Fionna is going through it right now, don’t you think it’d be good to notify her and your girlfriend that you’re busy somewhere instead of just ghosting on them without saying a word? It’s just common courtesy. You seem to be fine with talking through text considering that’s how you broke up with her.

Despite being FP’s male counterpart, they’re basically nothing alike. He doesn’t have her passion, he doesn’t have her faith in others, he’s exceedingly stupid where FP was just a little ignorant of the world around her due to being raised in a lamp for all of her childhood, and as mentioned earlier, is less of a character and more of a plot device to distract Fionna from the main conflict of the season.

Even when she tries getting him roped into getting the Sweet Spot back, he’s being portrayed less as a character and more like an audience magnet so people will come to the fundraiser. Seeing female Party Pat think the poster looked lame until his stupid face was stuck to it makes me more upset than it probably should.

He feels like a caricature of FP later in the original show, which was already not that great. How about for season 3, we ditch this ignoramus and focus more on FP? The real FP, not this soulless facsimile the writers conjured to make the 10 FP fans that are still around happy.

I’m sorry if this sounds like a rant (it is, and I’m drafting this at 3 AM so I’m also tired as shit too), but after watching the latest episode an hour ago, I’ve kind of reached my limit here. It really does feel like they genuinely have some weird vendetta against FP at times, thus leading to characters like DJ Flame. I know it’s likely not true, but it’s hard not to think that sometimes.
