thoughts on Titanic (1997)?

threw it on again the other night, not really expecting much… but damn, it still hits hard. The effects still look wild (especially for the ‘90s), the set design is insane, and the whole thing just feels real. Like, how did they make this in 1997 and it still looks cleaner than half the stuff that drops now?

And let’s talk about Jack and Rose. maybe not the deepest love story ever written, but it’s definitely one of the most iconic. Even people who’ve never watched the movie know the “I’m flying” scene. That’s wild.

I used to think it was just a basic love story with a big budget, but rewatching it now… I think I get it. It’s way more than that. Cameron kind of cooked with this one. and i recognise so many more cast now! how old were you when you first watched it?

– Is it actually a top tier movie or just a really good guilty pleasure?

– Was Leo & Kate’s chemistry that good or were we all just young and sappy?

– Did Celine Dion’s song boost the movie or push it into cheesy territory?

– Would this movie still work if it dropped today, or would people clown on it?

– And yeah… let’s settle it: could Jack have fit on that door or nah? 😡
